The term beloved refers to a sacrificial, redemptive love that speaks to commitment, safety and kinship. God delights in you, He is different from anyone else. God is gentle and kind. He’s in love with you and longs for you to be in love with him. We can choose to love him back or walk away. The fact that God is willing to let us walk away speaks to the depths of his selfless love for us.

You are loved and therefore you are protected. God rescues his beloved. God loves us the same way he loves Jesus! God rescued us before we knew we needed saving! He sent Jesus to die for us and be resurrected so that we can spend an eternity with him in Heaven.
I know this might seem confusing to some. Even infuriating to others. Thoughts might arise such as… "If God protects his Beloved then I must not be his Beloved because God didn’t protect me from my abuser?" Or you might think, "God loves me the same way he loves his son who he allowed to be tortured, mocked and killed?! WHAT?! And saving?! Saving from what?!"
If you’re reading this and I totally read your mind first off I’m truly sorry for your pain! I’ve been there and sometimes I still have those questions. It doesn’t take much to see pain and suffering and doubt God’s safety and justice in the midst of it all. I’ve taken the classes and studied the terms but when you’re trudging through the doubts, facts is the last thing you want to hear.
So from someone who has also experienced the doubts all I can say is go to the source. Go directly to God with these uncomfortable emotions and questions and see what he has to say. Be persistent, wait as long as it takes. If you don’t have time then come to him as many times as it takes. He wants to answer you so please don’t give up, you deserve a response. You deserve peace.
